ERASMUS+ ACCREDITATION

Objectives:

  • To deepen the development of our students' key competencies with an emphasis on self-assessment and self-regulation

  • Increase the number of teachers who will reflect the individual needs of students in their teaching and enhance the development of their strengths

  • Encourage collegial sharing and support to expand the school's relational network

Our school is proud to announce that it has been awarded Erasmus+ accreditation until 2027. This achievement is the result of our hard work and also the experience gained in the previous project. The application for accreditation was submitted in the autumn of 2022 and we have already received a positive report of its approval at the beginning of 2023.

This step allows our students and teachers to take advantage of diverse opportunities to study and work abroad. Within our program we place a strong emphasis on student trips, which enriches their academic and personal development.

In February 2023, we submitted our application for our first project under this accreditation, which will run until 31 August 2024. We are already planning our next project, applying for funding for further international activities, which we will submit in February next year. This accreditation represents a new era of learning opportunities for our students and teachers and we look forward to seeing what new opportunities and experiences it will bring.

What is the programme Erasmus+?

Erasmus+ is a European education programme that supports international exchanges for students, teachers and institutions. It offers opportunities for study, internships, volunteering and professional development in different countries. It aims to strengthen education, training, youth and sport in Europe, promote cultural and linguistic diversity and improve the skills and employability of participants. The programme emphasises intercultural understanding, cooperation and the strengthening of European identity.

What does it mean to be an accreditated school?

Being an accredited school means meeting certain quality standards and committing to a long-term commitment to the programme. Accreditation gives us access to stable funding and simplifies administrative processes.Unlike conventional projects that require individual applications for each activity, accreditation allows us to plan and implement activities based on a long-term strategy, leading to better integration of international activities into the school's educational programme and the development of sustainable partnerships.

What are the possibilities & opportunities?

Under Erasmus+ for school education, pupils can take part in individual or group mobility, where they can study or take part in projects in schools abroad. Teaching staff have the opportunity not only to attend courses and training abroad, but also to teach in other schools. This allows us to establish strategic partnerships with institutions in other countries, which enables collaboration on innovative educational projects. The programme thus promotes cultural exchange, professional development and broadens educational horizons.

Student mobilites

Erasmus+ student mobility provides exciting opportunities for our students to broaden their educational and cultural experience. We offer both group mobility, where whole classes can go abroad to study together, and individual mobility for those who want to explore the world on their own. Students have the opportunity to spend anywhere from 10 days to an entire school year at a host school abroad, allowing them to gain unique educational experiences and forge international friendships.

Teacher mobilities

As part of our participation in the Erasmus+ programme, we offer our employees a variety of international mobility opportunities. These include teaching stays at partner schools, participation in specialised courses and training abroad, and job shadowing at foreign institutions. These activities not only support the professional development of our teachers, but also enrich the whole school community with new experiences and perspectives.

Our Buddy system

The "Buddy System" is an innovative concept within the Erasmus+ programme that connects students with previous experience abroad with those who are about to embark on the same journey. Thus, those who have already completed the programme become "buddies" - personal mentors and helpers. These experienced buddies offer valuable advice and practical help in a number of areas, including preparing for the trip, familiarising themselves with the school system, choosing courses, navigating the new environment and advising on accommodation. This system not only provides practical support but also strengthens the cohesion between students.

International guests

Erasmus+ accreditation not only allows our students and teachers to travel abroad and gain new experiences, but also gives us the opportunity to welcome international students and teachers from all over Europe to our school.

As far as student mobility is concerned, we are hoping to bring in international students mainly for short-term mobility. These students will be involved in language classes and hopefully in educational subjects such as art, physical education and music. Group mobility will also be a big part of student activities. This intercultural encounter enriches the educational experience for all involved.

Teachers from different countries will have the opportunity to shadow with us and in the future we hope to expand the program to include teaching visits. Although our focus will be mainly on languages and education, we plan to develop the CLIL method, which could allow the guest teachers to be involved in other subjects.

Information about the visits of these international guests and their contributions to our school can be found in the news section of our website. Our school looks forward to this mutually enriching experience and to forming new links.
